About the Stars
The Stars (27-32-10) lost their third straight game, falling 7-1 at Edmonton Tuesday. The Stars trailed 2-0 after one period and were down 3-0 by early in the second.
"I thought we hit rock bottom last game (5-1 loss to San Jose Sunday), but we got deeper tonight," said Stars forward Tyler Seguin. "We're going to have to find some pride here, play for each other more and work harder or it is going to be a long couple of weeks."
"It's embarrassing is the word to use," said Stars forward Patrick Sharp. "I'm embarrassed, and I'd like to think my teammates are embarrassed as well. Hopefully, we can be a lot better on the rest of this trip."
The Stars have been outscored 17-4 during their three-game losing streak.
The Stars announced Wednesday that they have signed college free agent defenseman Gavin Bayreuther to an entry-level contract. Bayreuther will join the Texas Stars of the AHL on an amateur tryout contract.
Thursday's game is the third of a four-game road trip for the Stars.
Injuries: LW Antoine Roussel (upper body) is out. C/LW Mattias Janmark (knee) is on injured reserve.
