FRISCO, Texas -- The Dallas Stars announced today thatComerica Centerin Frisco and Children's Health StarCenter locations in Farmers Branch and Plano will serve as the sites of the 2023 Chipotle-USA Hockey Girls Tier I 14U, 16U and 19U National Championships March 30-April 3. Games are open to the public and free of charge.

"Dallas has truly become a destination for hockey, and Dallas Stars Tournaments is very proud to have once again been selected by USA Hockey as an official host," said Director, Dallas Stars Tournaments Brad Buckland. "This is the fifth USA Hockey National Championship we've hosted since 2021, and with the significant growth of girls hockey in our area over the last few years, we're looking forward to this being a very special event and experience for all involved."
Girls Tier I 14U, 16U and 19U pool play games will be played at all three facilities Thursday, March 30 through Saturday, April 1. Quarterfinal games will be played at Children's Health StarCenter locations in Farmers Branch and Plano on Sunday, April 2. Semifinal and championship games will be played at Comerica Center on Sunday, April 2 and Monday, April 3, respectively. In conjunction with the 2023 Chipotle-USA Hockey Girls Tier I 14U, 16U and 19U National Championships, the Dallas Stars Xtreme Team is hosting a Girls Hockey Celebration 4v4 Game on Saturday, April 1 from 9-11 a.m. at Comerica Center.
The tournament will feature four teams of local youth girls hockey players of all skill levels competing in an hour-long on-ice event. Celebrity coaches include former U.S. Olympic gold medalists Jenny Potter and Brianna Decker and NHL/Dallas Stars alumni Marty Turco and Al Montoya.
Potter is a four-time Olympian and won a gold medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. Potter was an eight-time member of the U.S. Women's National Team and won gold at the IIHF Women's World Championships three times (2005, 2008, 2009). A four-time All-American at the University of Minnesota Duluth, Potter currently lives in the Metroplex where her son, Cullen, plays in the Dallas Stars Elite program.
Decker is a three-time Olympian and won a gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. She also helped the U.S. win gold at six IIHF Women's World Championships (2011, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019). Recently retired from professional hockey, Decker serves as the girls prep associate head coach and special advisor to the Shattuck-St. Mary's hockey program, as well as a team and player development advisor for the Premier Hockey Federation.
