Stars (42-27-5, 89 points) vs. Sharks (29-33-11, 69 points)

DALLAS -- A busy Saturday across the NHL features 28 teams in game action, but the most important one for the Stars is their home contest against the San Jose Sharks. The race for a playoff spot doesn't get any tighter than the one the Stars, Predators and Golden Knights are in with two points separating the three.
With 89 points, the Stars (second wild card) are tied with the Preds (first wild card) and two points ahead of the Golden Knights (outside looking in), but Nashville and Dallas have a game in hand on Vegas. In addition to the Sharks-Stars game in the evening, Nashville hosts Chicago at 11:30 a.m. CT and Edmonton hosts Vegas at 3 p.m. CT.

It's also going to be quite the day at American Airlines Center, with the rare double header taking place at the arena Saturday. Please note that due to the Mavericks' playoff game at noon, traffic around the arena may be impacted upon your arrival. Please plan accordingly.
Only five home games remain in the regular season for the Stars, including their matchup with the Sharks. Following their game Saturday, they'll embark on their last trip of the 2021-22 campaign, a three-game trek through Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary. Then, they'll return for a four-game homestand against Seattle, Vegas, Arizona and Anaheim to close out the regular season.
This is the third and final meeting of the season between the Stars and Sharks, and the lone matchup held at AAC. The Stars have split the first two, losing 2-1 on Dec. 11 and winning 5-4 on April 2. The Stars have been dominant at home against the Sharks, winning six in a row, which is tied for the club's fourth-longest active home winning streak. Additionally, Dallas has won nine of its past 11 (9-2-0) and has points in 14 of its previous 19 games (13-5-1) against San Jose at AAC.
