The Sharks finished their early March road trip with a back-to-back ending in St. Paul, Minnesota- Bret Hedican's hometown.

Hedican grew up in St. Paul and played college hockey at St. Cloud State University before entering the NHL.ย

While he never played for the Sharks, he started brodcasting for them on pre and post game shows shortly after retiring. He joined the Sharks Audio team in 2014 providing color commentary for Dan Rusanowsky. Today, he still splits his time between TV and the Audio Network.

Hedican sees audio and TV color commentary as similar but with diffrent goals.

If you know one thing about Minnesota, besides it's cold, you know high school hockey is religion. Hedican attended and played for North St. Paul High School. The school retired his number in 2006.ย

When you walk around Xcel Engery Center there are high school jerseys hung up around the concourse honoring the local high school teams. The jersey representing North St. Paul High? Hedican's.

Hedican loves getting to make a stop at home while on the road and see some old friends.
