Having already earned the unofficial name "Shark Tank," SAP Center has yet another reason to pay homage to the ocean-predator-turned beloved-team-mascot in the city of San Jose - this time coming in the form of a 12-foot-tall Shark fin art installation from Burning Man.
Artist Oleg Lobykin created the glistening aluminum leaf finish fin, "No Swimming," which will be a mainstay along West Santa Clara Street thanks to the Paseo artwork project between the City of San Jose's Office of Cultural Affairs and Burning Man Project.

Lobykin, who was originally born in Russia, now resides in the South Bay and uses his experiences within Silicon Valley to not only show San Jose's love for the Sharks, but how technology mirrors our relationship with nature. He hopes that "No Swimming" serves as a visual reminder that even as humans increasingly dominate nature, we are still very much a part of it.
The installation will remain outside SAP Center throughout the Sharks 2019-20 regular season schedule.
