The Buffalo Sabres have activated Mattias Samuelsson from injured reserve and have loaned the defenseman to the Rochester Americans (AHL).
Samuelsson sustained a lower-body injury at the end of the first game of the Prospects Challenge on September 10.
He could make his season debut tonight for the Amerks. Rochester hosts Belleville tonight at 7:05 p.m.

Samuelsson, 21, made his NHL debut in April and recorded two assists in the final 12 games of last season with Buffalo.
He was selected by the Sabres in the second round (32nd overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft and played two seasons at Western Michigan before signing a three-year, entry level contract with Buffalo in March 2020.
Samuelsson has recorded 13 points (3+10) in 23 career AHL games.
