Amerks Update | Hinostroza to make Amerks debut tonight

Vinnie Hinostroza practiced with the Rochester Americans yesterday and will make his Amerks debut tonight against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
The 28-year-old forward cleared waivers last week and was assigned to Rochester.
Coach Seth Appert said Hinostroza will center a line with Jiri Kulich and Lucas Rousek and likes the potential of that trio developing some chemistry right away.

"This allows us to get Kulich back to the wing, which I think is a good thing for him. Vinnie's a play-driver," Appert said. "He plays with such passion and energy and competitiveness, is a great forechecker. He comes up with a lot of pucks. I think he can really help that line in that way."
In 109 career AHL games, Hinostroza has compiled 82 points (30+52). He last played in the AHL during the 2017-18 season with the Rockford IceHogs.

The Amerks open up a three-game homestand tonight and will try to end a four-game losing streak when they take on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at Blue Cross Arena.
It's a 7:05 p.m. faceoff and tickets are on sale now. The game will also air live on AHLTV and The Sports Leader 95.7 FM/950 AM in Rochester.
Since the start of the 2018-19 season, Rochester has gone 7-0-0, the team's longest active win streak against any opponent.
The Amerks have scored 10 power-play goals in their last seven games against the Penguins dating back to the start of the 2017-18 season, going 10-for-32 (31.2 percent) with the man advantage over that span. While shorthanded against the Penguins, Rochester has killed off 20 of their last 21 power-play opportunities.
Rochester has outscored Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 35-13 in head-to-head matchups since the beginning of the 2017-18 season.
