Isak Rosen and Noah Ostlund have been named to Sweden's preliminary roster for the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship, which will be held from December 26, 2022 through January 5, 2023 in Halifax and Moncton.

Rosen, selected by the Sabres with the 14th-overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, has appeared in 20 games this season for the Rochester Americans. The 19-year-old, who signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Sabres in May, has tallied three goals and 11 assists in his rookie season.

Rosen previously helped Sweden take home the bronze medal at the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship in Edmonton. The forward scored four goals and notched one assist in the tournament, including two game winning goals and two power play goals.
In 2021, Rosen represented Sweden at the U-18 World Championship, where he tallied seven goals and nine points in seven games.

Ostlund, drafted by Buffalo with the 16th-overall pick last summer, has recorded two goals and nine assists in 19 games for Djurgardens of HockeyAllsvenskan this season.
Ostlund previously represented Sweden at the 2021 and 2022 U-18 World Championship. The 18-year-old registered two points for the Swedes in 2021 while tallying four goals and six assists in 2022.

UPDATE (December 12) - Jiri Kulich has been selected to Czechia's preliminary roster for the tournament.
Drafted by the Sabres with the 28th-overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, Kulich has played in 22 games for the Rochester Americans this season. The forward has scored five goals and recorded 14 points so far in his rookie campaign.

Kulich, who signed his entry-level deal with the Sabres on July 15, previously represented Czechia in the 2022 U-18 World Championship. The 18-year-old led all skaters with nine goals in six games and was named tournament MVP while serving as team captain.
At the 2022 World Junior Championship, Kulich tallied seven points in seven contests, including a team-best five assists for Czechia.
