At the Horn | PIT 3 – BUF 1

The Buffalo Sabres wrapped up their preseason Saturday at KeyBank Center with a 3-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Both teams dressed close to their full NHL lineups. Ryan McLeod scored Buffalo’s goal, and Owen Power picked up his fourth preseason assist in two games.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen started in net for Buffalo and stopped 15 of 17 shots, but he was pulled 3:47 into the third period with what coach Lindy Ruff called a lower-body tweak. Colten Ellis entered in relief.

Defenseman Matt Grzelcyk, signed to a one-year deal Friday, made his unofficial Sabres debut, starting on a pair with Conor Timmins. Grzelcyk skated 16:48 with one shot, two hits and two blocks.
