The American Hockey League announced today that Rochester Americans goaltender Linus Ullmark has been selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Dec. 24, 2017.
Ullmark stopped 65 of the 68 shots he faced in two starts for the Americans last week, going 2-0-0 with a 1.46 goals-against average and a .956 save percentage as Rochester continued to surge towards the top of the Eastern Conference standings.

On Wednesday evening, Ullmark took a shutout bid into the final minute of regulation and finished with 31 saves in Rochester's 3-1 victory over Belleville. And on Friday, Ullmark improved to 6-0-3 on the road this season, making 34 saves as the Americans defeated Laval, 3-2 in overtime.
A sixth-round choice by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Ullmark has a record of 14-4-3 in 22 appearances for Rochester this season, posting a 2.46 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage. The 24-year-old native of Lugnvik, Sweden, is tied for the AHL lead in wins and ranks first in saves (623) and minutes played (1,243).
Ullmark is in his third season of pro hockey in North America and has played 105 AHL games with Rochester, going 50-47-5 with a 2.93 GAA, a .910 save percentage and two shutouts. The 2017 AHL All-Star has also made 21 career NHL appearances with Buffalo, posting a record of 8-11-2 (2.64, .913).
In recognition of his achievement, Ullmark will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Americans home game.

A weekend sweep of Laval has the Amerks tied atop the Eastern Conference standings with Toronto and five points back of the league-leading Manitoba Moose.
The Amerks have earned at least one point in 16 of their first 17 road games this season with only one regulation loss, a 5-0 setback at Binghamton on Nov. 17. Rochester owns the AHL's second-best record on the road with an 11-1-3-2 mark and have outscored its opposition 54-45. The Amerks come into the final week of December riding an AHL-best 10-game road point streak dating back to Nov. 22 (7-0-2-1).
The Amerks return from the Christmas break this week with three games in four nights to close out the 2017 calendar year. Rochester makes its first trip to Ricoh Coliseum on Friday to take on the Toronto Marlies in a crucial first-place matchup in between a pair of get-togethers with the Laval Rocket to usher in the New Year.

Sahir Gill scored a pair of goals to break a scoreless game less than five minutes into Wednesday night's third period with the Belleville Senators (11-15-0-3) to lead the Rochester Americans (17-6-3-3) to a 3-1 win at The Blue Cross Arena.
With the victory, Rochester has notched points in 18 of its last 20 games and 32 points since Nov. 1 while improving to 6-1-1-2 in the last 10 games. Additionally, the win moved the Amerks to within two of the first-place Toronto Marlies.
Gill scored his eighth and ninth goals of the season while defenseman Zach Redmond bagged his third multi-point effort of the campaign as he tallied his seventh marker of the season along with an assist. The veteran blueliner is one goal shy of tying his career-high of eight and his currently tied for third in the AHL for goals by a defenseman. Goaltender Linus Ullmark made 31 saves to record his league-best 13th win of the season.

The Rochester Americans (18-6-3-3) tied Friday night's game against the Laval Rocket (11-13-5-2) late in the third period to force overtime before Nick Baptiste scored the game-winning goal with 1:09 left in the extra frame.
With the 3-2 overtime victory, Rochester has notched points in 19 of its last 21 games and 34 points since Nov. 1 while improving 10-1-3-2 while on the road this season. The Amerks remain the only team with one loss in regulation in the AHL and just sit two points behind the first-place Toronto Marlies.
Amerks forward Kyle Criscuolo (2+0) notched his second multi-point performance in the last three outings, and the first multi-goal game of his career, while defenseman Zach Redmond registered his second two-point night in as many games with a pair of helpers. Baptiste scored his sixth goal of the slate along with an assist for his fourth multi-point game of the campaign and shows five points (2+3) in the last six games. Goaltender Linus Ullmark stopped 34 of 36 to improve to 11-1-3 in last 15 starts. The Swedish netminder has a league-best 14 wins on the season.

The Rochester Americans (19-6-3-3) completed their weekend sweep of the Laval Rocket (11-14-5-2) with a 3-1 victory Saturday at Place Bell in the final game before the Christmas break.
Back-to-back wins over the Montreal Canadiens' affiliate have elevated the Amerks to a tie with the Toronto Marlies for first place in both the American Hockey League's North Division standings and the Eastern Conference. Rochester has notched points in 20 of its last 22 games and 36 points overall since Nov. 1, while improving 11-1-3-2 while on the road this season. The Amerks remain the only AHL team with just one regulation loss away from The Blue Cross Arena this season.
Rochester captain Kevin Porter recorded his fifth multi-point night of the season with a goal and an assist, while Stuart Percy and Garret Ross rounded out scoring with their fourth and fifth goals of the season, respectively. Amerks goaltender Adam Wilcox stopped 33 of 34 shots sent his way to pick up his third straight win and fourth in his last five starts for Rochester, which enters the holiday break having won four straight.
