The Amerks enter the final week of the 2017-18 regular season two points ahead of the Utica Comets for third place in the AHL's North Division standings with just three games remaining. Rochester will either face the Toronto Marlies or Syracuse Crunch in the opening round of the 2018 Calder Cup Playoffs.

The playoff-bound Rochester Americans (34-20-11-6) opened the final month of the 2017-18 regular season the same way they concluded the last two games of March; with a victory. With a 3-2 win Wednesday night at Place Bell against the Laval Rocket (24-38-7-2), the Amerks finished the eight-game season-series with a 6-2-0-0 record.
Colin Blackwell scored a pair of goals, including the game-winning tally for the third time in the last four games, while Danny O'Regan chipped in a two assists for Rochester. First-year forward Sean Malone scored his 11th of the season to round out the scoring while rookie goaltender Jonas Johansson picked up his third straight victory in as many games to improve his record to 3-2-0 on the campaign.

The Rochester Americans (34-21-11-6) saw their five-game point streak come to an end as they fell 5-1 to the Belleville Senators (27-40-2-3) Friday night at The Blue Cross Arena. The matchup between the two North Division rivals was the first of Rochester's final four-game homestand of the campaign.
Colin Blackwell extended his career-long point-streak to six games as he picked up his 12th point and eighth goal dating back to Mar. 24 for Rochester, which has earned at least one point in five of its last six games. Rookie goaltender Jonas Johansson saw his personal-best three-game winning streak end as he was tagged with the loss before being replaced by Jason Kasdorf to begin the third period.

Rochester Americans (35-21-11-6) and the league-leading Toronto Marlies (51-18-2-2) combined for 11 goals, but it was the Amerks who came away with a 6-5 overtime win at The Blue Cross Arena.
Saturday night's victory was Rochester's third straight against the Marlies and Amerks' 29th game that was decided past regulation this season, the most in the American Hockey League since the Milwaukee Admirals did so during the 2006-07 campaign.
With the overtime win, plus a regulation loss by the Utica Comets to the Syracuse Crunch tonight, the Amerks have regained sole possession of third place in the North Division standings with only three games remaining in the regular season.
Colin Blackwell pushed his career-long point streak to seven games as he earned his seventh multi-point (1+2) effort in the last 12 games dating back to Mar.11. Overall his last 12 contests, Blackwell shows 21 points (10+11).
Hudson Fasching and Sahir Gill each bagged a pair of goals for Rochester, which has earned at least one point in six of its last seven games, going 5-1-1-0 during that span. Justin Bailey rounded out the scoring while Seth Griffith chipped in two assists to reach the 40-point plateau for the third straight season. Rookie goaltender Jonas Johansson improved to 4-3-0 on the season as he turned aside 30 of 35 shots he faced in what was his fifth straight start.
