Before the puck dropped on the 2020-21 NHL season, the Predators took a moment to recognize the true heroes of Nashville.
Preds players and coaches took to the ice for their Opening Night ceremonies on Thursday at Bridgestone Arena holding signs with the names of area first responders who have been on the frontlines during the pandemic over the past 10 months.
The Predators also honored the six Metro Nashville police officers that evacuated citizens prior to the downtown bombing on Christmas morning.

Sergeant Timothy Miller, as well as officers Brenna Hosey, Tyler Luellen, James Wells, Amanda Topping and Michael Sipos were all in attendance on Thursday night to be praised for their bravery, courage and action to save so many lives on Second Avenue.
The officers were recognized during a pregame ceremony and received stick taps from the players and a standing ovation from friends and family in attendance.
The Preds went on to defeat the Columbus Blue Jackets by a 3-1 final
