Fourth-line center Jordan Martinook and right winger Ryan White scored goals, and left winger Lawson Crouse notched two assists. All three players finished plus-1.
"They work," Tippett said. "They compete. They're in people's face. They hunt down loose pucks. When the puck goes to the net, they go after it ... They had both of our goals. There's no reason why they shouldn't keep going over the boards."
Martinook scored his goal at 8:48 of the first period to give Arizona a 1-0 lead. White scored his goal at 18:30 of the second period to put the Coyotes ahead 2-1.
The game slipped away from the Coyotes in the final 20 minutes when the Kings out-shot them, 13-9, and outscored them, 1-0.
"We didn't really come out and push as hard as we needed to in the third," Martinook said. "We didn't get a ton of chances. As much as you want to at least try and get a point out of that, it is what it is. We've got to do more to generate more offense in the third period to try and push back against what they are trying to do to us."
