Wild honor Prince with purple logo

Minneapolis-born music icon dies at 57

The Minnesota Wild changed their green, red and white logo on their Twitter page to purple in honor of music legend and Minneapolis native Prince, who died on Thursday at the age of 57.

Xcel Energy Center, where the Wild play their home games, changed the logo on its Twitter page to purple, as well.

Prince & The Revolution recorded "Purple Rain" in 1984. The album of the same name was ranked by Time magazine in 1993 as the 15th greatest album of all time.

A post on the Xcel Energy Center Twitter page read: "We mourn the death of @Prince. Rest in peace to the iconic Minnesota musician, one we were proud to call our own.
