The Minnesota Wild forward played in front of his mother, two aunts and grandmother on Saturday at Xcel Energy Center, and it was his nana Mary Kelly's first time seeing him play in Minnesota. Coyle is in his fifth season with the Wild.
Fox Sports North's Kevin Gorg caught up with Kelly and made us wonder why we don't hear from players' grandmas more often.
But don't let that super sweet nana demeanor fool you. This lady is tough as nails. As Gorg mentioned,
Kelly went skydiving for her 80th birthday
, something Coyle couldn't even bring himself to do.
Kelly didn't go home disappointed. Not only did the Wild beat the Nashville Predators 5-2, she also got to go home with a puck hand delivered by Minnesota mascot Nordy.
