Capitals make a wish kid

Alex Ovechkin brought a smile to a young fan’s face on Friday.

The Washington Capitals hosted a teenager named Josie from the Make-A-Wish Foundation for the day.

The 13-year-old from Connecticut, who has a congenital heart disease, wished to meet the Capitals captain.

Before the team’s morning skate, Ovechkin greeted an excited Josie and shared a hug before he hit the ice at MedStar Capitals Iceplex.

Capitals forward Dylan Strome shared a sweet moment with Josie as he walked out to practice and gifted her a puck.

Josie then watched the Capitals practice from the team’s bench and fist bumped a few players who came over to say hello.

After practice, Ovechkin gifted the young fan a signed stick and the two posed for a picture.

Later at Capital One Arena, Josie and her family watched warmups from the Capitals bench before the team’s game against the New Jersey Devils.

The Capitals captain made sure to skate over to Josie and gift her a warmup puck.

Talk about a Gr8 day.
