Viktor Arvidsson contract July 1 26

Viktor Arvidsson signed a two-year, $10 million contract with the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday. It has an average annual value of $5 million.

The 33-year-old forward had 54 points (25 goals, 29 assists) in 69 regular-season games for the Boston Bruins last season and two goals in four Stanley Cup Playoff games.

Selected by the Nashville Predators in the fourth round (No. 112) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Arvidsson has 443 points (219 goals, 224 assists) in 682 regular-season games for the Predators, Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers and Bruins and 46 points (17 goals, 29 assists) in 91 playoff games.

The Red Wings also signed Daniil Tarasov to a one-year, $2 million contract.

The 27-year-old goalie was 13-15-3 with a 3.05 goals-against average and .895 save percentage in an NHL career-high 33 games (31 starts) for the Florida Panthers last season. 

Selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the third round (No. 86) of the 2017 NHL Draft, Tarasov is 32-49-9 with a 3.30 GAA, .897 save percentage and one shutout in 98 regular-season games (92 starts) for the Blue Jackets and Panthers.
