The Blue Jackets will be without coach John Tortorella, who did not make the trip to Boston because he suffered two broken ribs in a collision in practice on Friday. Associate coach Craig Hartsburg will fill in for Tortorella.
"It sounds about right for this year, doesn't it?" Foligno said after the morning skate. "You know what I think? It's just another piece of adversity. It's another thing that we're going through. I think it almost maybe lightens up the room a little bit. It's awful what happened yesterday and it's said to hear [Tortorella] is dealing with a pretty significant injury. But maybe it allows us to focus on what we need to do tonight and understand that we still get to play this game, we're lucky to play it and just go out there and have fun."
Foligno had one goal and five assists in four games before he went out of the lineup for six games with an upper-body injury. He has six goals and 19 assists in 39 games and Calvert, who missed nine games with a knee injury, has six goals and one assist in 39 games. Both will be welcome additions for the Blue Jackets, who are last in the Eastern Conference with 38 points.
"It's two established NHL players that will bring some leadership to the group," Hartsburg said. "It's a big help to our team to get those two guys back tonight."
The Bruins had their three-game winning streak ended Thursday by the Vancouver Canucks. Boston has lost five of its past seven home games and is 10-12-2 this season on friendly ice.
"For the most part, we've had good starts to our games," Bruins coach Claude Julien said. "So I think the biggest issue in our home record has been the inability to sustain that game plan and that start. We seem to drift away at times and kind of stop doing the things that we're doing well. ... We just have to make sure that we have a little bit of the same mentality that we've had on the road."
