Campbell is no stranger to championship-caliber hockey. He played for Kitchener's Memorial Cup championship team as a junior in 2003 and was part of the Boston Bruins Stanley Cup championship team in 2011.
Even Gregory's father Colin has won a Stanley Cup. The elder Campbell, who is the Senior Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations for the NHL, was an assistant coach with the New York Rangers when they won the Cup in 1994.

Even Gregory's father Colin has won a Stanley Cup. The elder Campbell, who is the Senior Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations for the NHL, was an assistant coach with the New York Rangers when they won the Cup in 1994.
When Gregory helped the Bruins win the Cup 17 years later by scoring a goal and three assists in 25 playoff games, the Campbell's became, at that time, only the 13th father-son combo to win the Cup.
Gregory and Colin are also one of only six father-son combos to each play in at least 600 NHL games, Gregory reaching that plateau in a game against the Calgary Flames on Dec. 10, 2013.
A third-round pick (No. 67) of the Florida Panthers in 2002 NHL Draft, Campbell made his NHL debut on Oct. 18, 2003, in a 2-1 loss to the New York Islanders, and scored his first NHL goal on Nov. 15, 2005, in a 4-3 loss to the Montreal Canadiens.
He spent his next four seasons playing for Florida, leading the Panthers in hits with 158 during the 2009-10 season, but he was traded to the Bruins on June 22, 2010.
A natural leader and exceptional penalty killer, Campbell once spent more than a minute playing on what proved to be a broken right fibula after he dropped to block an Evgeni Malkin slap shot while killing a penalty during a 2013 Stanley Cup Playoff game.
That playoff run, which ended with the Bruins facing the Chicago Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Finals, was one of four that Campbell participated in with Boston before he took advantage of free agency and signed a two-year contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets on July 1, 2015.
