Jessi Pierce left a lasting impact on the Minnesota hockey community, and her legacy and spirit will be honored with the Jessi Pierce Community Cup, to be held Dec. 11-13 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Pierce covered the Minnesota Wild and the NHL for NHL.com for 10 seasons before she was killed in a house fire at age 37, along with her three children and family dog on March 21.
A fixture in the Minnesota hockey community and a devoted advocate for the sport, Pierce also co-hosted the “Bardown Beauties” podcast and had her work appear in numerous publications, including USA Hockey, the Minnesota Hockey Journal, Massachusetts Hockey, The Athletic and the B1G Ice Hockey blog, which covered Big Ten ice hockey.
The Jessi Pierce Community Cup will feature eight teams competing at TRIA Rink, with proceeds from the tournament benefiting the Jessi Pierce Legacy Scholarship Program with Minnesota Hockey.
