The NHL regular season ends Sunday, April 9. Here is a look at the Stanley Cup Playoff picture with less than a month to go.
With four weeks remaining in the regular season, the Toronto Maple Leafs own the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference.

Toronto, with a 3-2 overtime victory against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday, jumped one point ahead of the New York Islanders, who lost 4-3 to the St. Louis Blues on Saturday.
If the playoffs started today, the Maple Leafs would face the Washington Capitals, the top seed in the East, in the Eastern Conference First Round. The Maple Leafs haven't made the playoffs since the 2012-13 season.

In the Western Conference, the Edmonton Oilers, who were in second place in the Pacific Division entering Friday, are in fourth and, as the first wild card in the West, would face the San Jose Sharks in the first round.
The Blues have a three-point lead over the Los Angeles Kings for the second wild card from the West. The Blues and Kings play each other at Staples Center on Monday (10 p.m. ET; SN. SNO, FS-W, FS-MW, NHL.TV).
