The Blackhawks comeback attempt fell short on Sunday night, falling to the Jets 6-4 at the United Center. Chicago turned a three-goal hole in the third into a one-goal game late before a Blake Wheeler empty-netter sealed the deal for the visitors.
Jonathan Toews, Dylan Strome, Taylor Raddysh and Philipp Kurashev all found the net on the night in the loss. Marc-Andre Fleury made 26 stops in the defeat.

1st - 9:14 - Nikolaj Ehlers (Kyle Connor, Nate Schmidt)

The Jets opened the scoring after a back-and-forth start as Nikolaj Ehlers converted a wraparound chance for a 1-0 lead. Following a Blackhawks rush, Winnipeg turned the puck back the other way with Ehlers skating the puck from his own end into the offensive zone. He dropped a pass for Kyle Connor inside the blue line and then got a return feed in the corner with speed, where he turned the corner and tucked a shot off the skate of Marc-Andre Fleury at the far post.

2nd - 1:13 - Jonathan Toews (Taylor Raddysh, Dominik Kubalik)

The Blackhawks scored a pair of tallies within a 23-second span early in the second to take the lead, starting with Jonathan Toews' eighth of the season. Newly-acquired Taylor Raddysh notched his first point as a Blackhawk to setup the captain, collecting a puck off the near boards and firing a pass into the slot for Toews driving the net. Toews one-touched a shot into the back of the net for a 1-1 tie.

2nd - 1:36 - Dylan Strome (Patrick Kane, Alex DeBrincat)

Off an offensive faceoff just 23 ticks later, Chicago was right back into the slot with the top line. Alex DeBrincat kept a clearing feed in along the wall and found Dylan Strome in the high slot. Strome played give-and-go with Patrick Kane in the corner, sending a pass and then droving the slot for a return feed from his winger. Strome redirected a quick shot past Connor Hellebuyck for a 2-1 advantage.

2nd - 2:15 - Jansen Harkins (Dylan DeMelo, Andrew Copp)

Winnipeg took just 39 seconds to respond, tying the game again at 2-2. The Jets entered the zone and worked the puck back to the point for a Dylan DeMelo shot that Jansen Harkins tipped past Marc-Andre Fleury for a deadlocked score.

The visitors regained the lead just past the midpoint of the contest as Jansen Harkins netted his second of the game off a zone entry. Andrew Copp found Harkins with a crisp pass at the back door for the 3-2 advantage.

Winnipeg scored again on a power play to make it a 4-2 game later in the frame. After Marc-Andre Fleury's glove was knocked off during play, Mark Scheifele sent a seam pass across to Kyle Connor at the far point, where the winger ripped a slap shot past the Blackhawks netminder for a 4-2 score.
