The Wild dropped its first game against the Stars, 6-3, Sunday at Wells Fargo Arena (2/18). F Cal O'Reilly (1-1=2) led Iowa with two points while DRyan Murphy and D Zach Palmquist each scored a goal. G Steve Michalek stopped 25-of-30 shots.
Iowa earned a 2-1 victory in its second game against Texas Monday in Des Moines (2/19). F Pat Cannone and F Justin Kloos netted a goal apiece for the Wild while G Niklas Svedberg made 26 saves.
O'Reilly is on a four-game point streak (1-4=5) and owns 21 points (4-17=21) in the last 16 games. He leads the Wild with 44 points (9-35=44) in 51 games this season, just two points shy of tying the franchise record for most points by a Wild player in a single season and he ranks fifth in the AHL this season in assists and T-9th in scoring.
F Sam Anas ranks second on the team with 41 points (18-23=41) in 46 games and ranks T-4th in the league with three shootout goals. Kloos ranks third with 37 points (16-21=37) and ranks T-5th amongst AHL rookies in scoring and T-8th in goals and assists.
Svedberg is 16-9-3 with a 2.43 GAA, a .921 SV% and two shutouts in 28 games this season. Michalek is 9-5-4 with a 3.04 GAA and a .908 SV% in 18 contests.
Iowa begins a six-game road trip this weekend, visiting Grand Rapids for a two-game series Saturday and Sunday.
