TORONTO - The Canadiens are trailing in a series for the first time in the 2020 postseason. The Flyers took a 1-0 lead in the Eastern Conference quarterfinal on Wednesday night with a close 2-1 win. The Habs will be looking to build on a dominant second half of that contest when Game 2 gets underway on Friday afternoon.

Here's what you need to know ahead of Game 2.

In the room

Some unexpected news shocked the team on Thursday, with the Club announcing that head coach Claude Julien had been hospitalized with chest pain. Julien will not return before the end of the Flyers series. Following his hospital say, the coach will return to Montreal to rest following the stenting of a coronary artery. Associate coach Kirk Muller will take his spot on an interim basis.

Watch list:

Max Domi: With the emergence of young centers Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Nick Suzuki, Domi had been employed in more of a support role so far in the 2020 postseason. But the 25-year-old forward finished Game 1 skating alongside Kotkaniemi and Jonathan Drouin in more of an offensive capacity. We'll have to wait and see if Muller will make any changes to the team's line combos for Game 2.

Power play: After being unable to convert on 12 chances with the man advantage in the Pittsburgh series, the Canadiens scored on their lone power play in Game 1 against the Flyers. Shea Weber was the author of the power play marker, extending his goal-scoring streak to three games.

They said it

Weber on a tight 2-1 loss to the top-seeded team in the Eastern Conference and what they need to do to beat the Flyers in Game 2:

"I thought we had a little bit of a rusty start. I thought we were slow out of the gates, maybe due to not playing for a bunch of days. I thought as the game went on we got better and we showed that we can play with them. We believe we can play with them. It's a seven-game series. It was a tight game tonight and it should be a good series going forward."

At the other end

With their win in Game 1, the Flyers remain unbeaten since returning from the pause, in large part because of the sparkling play of Carter Hart. The young backstop was the game's first star, allowing just one goal on 28 shots and stopping all 25 shots he faced at 5-on-5.

Watch list:

Joel Farabee: The 20-year-old rookie seems to be fitting in nicely on a line with Sean Couturier and Claude Giroux. The American winger scored his first game-winner of the playoffs, and has put up three points in his past three games.
