Sixteen teams began play at the IIHF World Championships on May 5.
Now, only eight remain.

Colton Parayko (Team Canada) and Vladimir Sobotka (Team Czech Republic) joined the tournament shortly after the Blues' season ended, and both have advanced to the quarterfinals. Parayko and Team Canada will battle Germany on Thursday, while Sobotka and the Czech Republic will battle Russia.
Through three tournament games, Parayko has contributed three goals, two assists and a plus-2 rating. Sobotka has made two appearances with the Czech Republic, posting four penalty minutes and three shots on goal.
