NHL Trade Buzz: Toffoli, Kings ignore rumors, distractions

Welcome to the NHL Trade Buzz. There are eight days remaining until the 2020 NHL Trade Deadline (Feb. 24 at 3 p.m. ET), and NHL.com has all the important news, rumblings and analysis heading toward the deadline.
Here's a look around the League at the latest deadline doings:

Los Angeles Kings

Tyler Toffoli is one of several players on the Kings being mentioned in trade rumors, but that didn't get in the way of a strong performance under the spotlight of the 2020 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series on Saturday.
Toffoli, who can be an unrestricted free agent July 1, had the first hat trick in NHL outdoor game history in the Kings' 3-1 win against the Colorado Avalanche at Falcon Stadium.
The forward has 34 points (18 goals, 16 assists) in 58 games with the Kings, who are last in the Western Conference. He is likely one of several Kings who could be traded. Forward Trevor Lewis and defenseman Alec Martinez have also been mentioned prominently in trade rumors.
"Lot of [trade] talk, right? Lot of talk about a lot of guys," Kings forward Jeff Carter said. "I think every single guy has done a good job of knowing you have a job to do. Play hockey, do the best you can, right? Leave it all on the ice. Everybody's proud to be an LA King no matter what's going on this year and all the talk."

Arizona Coyotes

Taylor Hall is focusing on the helping the Coyotes get into the Stanley Cup Playoffs, not on trade speculation.
"I want to play here for the rest of the year," Hall told NHL.com before the Coyotes defeated the Washington Capitals 3-1 at Gila River Arena on Saturday. "I want to make the playoffs with the guys here. I don't want to go anywhere else."
The forward, who has 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) in 26 games with the Coyotes since they acquired him from the New Jersey Devils on Dec. 16, can be an unrestricted free agent July 1.
The Coyotes (29-24-8) hold the second wild card into the playoffs from the Western Conference. They are tied in points with the Calgary Flames, who hold the first wild card, and are two points behind the Vegas Golden Knights for third in the Pacific Division.

Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks are fighting for a playoff spot, and general manager Stan Bowman has some ideas of what they could do at the trade deadline. But nothing is concrete yet.
"We've had a couple different thoughts as far as what we might do," Bowman told The Athletic during Chicago's 8-4 win against the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome on Saturday. "We could go a couple different ways with it and as of today, we haven't ventured down one path too far yet. We've had a fair number of conversations… but not super active. But I anticipate it to pick up and I think we'll kind of just see what happens, what things are thrown our way and evaluate what makes sense for now and for later, then add it all up and make our decision. But we're not really close to anything now."
The Blackhawks (26-24-8) are six points behind the Arizona Coyotes for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference. They play the Winnipeg Jets at Bell MTS Place on Sunday (8:30 p.m. ET; ESPN+, TSN3, NBCSCH, NHL.TV).
