TUE. 5/21

CENTER

Ryan O'Reilly, STL -- The St. Louis Blues center has two assists in two Game 6s so far in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He has not scored a point in three straight games but is playing on the second line with wings David Perron and rookie Sammy Blais and could take advantage of a potentially depleted Sharks roster in Game 6 after valuable skaters Erik Karlsson, Joe Pavelski and Tomas Hertl left Game 5 with injuries. O'Reilly is tied for third among Blues forwards in points (11 in 18 games) and tied with Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron for the second most face-off wins (217; 12.1 per game) in the NHL this postseason.

WING

Jaden Schwartz, STL -- The Blues left wing scored his second hat trick of the postseason on seven shots on goal against the Sharks in Game 5. Schwartz is due for better home production (five goals, no assists, 28 SOG in nine such playoff games) playing on the top line with elite right wing Vladimir Tarasenko, who has at least a point in all five games against the Sharks this series totaling seven points (two goals, five assists). Schwartz has five points (four goals, one assist) and eight SOG in two Game 6s this postseason.

DEFENSEMAN

Marc-Edouard Vlasic, SJS -- The Sharks defenseman did not have a point against the Blues in Game 5 but had three SOG and one blocked shot in 24:19. If Karlsson is limited again or out because of injury in Game 6, Vlasic would take on more offensive responsibility with San Jose facing elimination. Vlasic has two multipoint games this postseason and four points (two goals, two assists) in six road games.

GOALIE

Martin Jones, SJS -- The San Jose goalie stopped 35 of 40 shots faced in a loss to the Blues in Game 5. He has now lost consecutive games for only the second time this postseason but carries bounce-back appeal considering he's 4-0 with a .943 save percentage when facing elimination. There is some concern with Karlsson, Pavelski and Hertl leaving Game 5 with injuries, but Jones' best game of the playoffs came in Game 6 of the first round (58 saves on 59 shots faced against Vegas Golden Knights).
