Hockey world reacts to Oscars mishap

NHL players, who know a thing or two about prestigious trophies, were as shocked as the rest of the world about the mishap at the Academy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.
In an ending only Hollywood could have scripted, "Moonlight" was named best picture after "La La Land" had been erroneously announced as the winner. The actors and crew from "La La Land" took the stage to give acceptance speeches, but after some confusing moments, producer Jordan Horowitz announced "Moonlight" had actually won.

It was a scene that stunned those watching at home, including many players around the League.

St. Louis Blues forward Paul Stastny successfully picked the winners for best actress (Emma Stone, "La La Land"), supporting actor (Mahershala Ali, "Moonlight") and supporting actress (Viola Davis, "Fences") and thought he'd correctly predicted "La La Land" would take the honors as the best film, until the correction was made.

Meanwhile, with the NHL Trade Deadline at 3 p.m. ET on March 1 approaching, Bob McKenzie of TSN also reminded everyone that, whether it's Hollywood awards or hockey transactions, results always must be made official.
