Cam Ward siren SCF

After 20 years, Cam Ward is ready to see his old friend Lord Stanley in Raleigh again.

The former Carolina Hurricanes goalie sounded the team’s siren before Game 2 of the 2026 Stanley Cup Final against the Vegas Golden Knights at Lenovo Center on Thursday.

Ward was joined by his son and daughter who waved rally towels as the retired goalie put his back into cranking the siren.

After his siren duties, Ward took out his own rally towel and waved it in the air.

Ward backstopped the Hurricanes to their only Stanley Cup championship in 2006, his rookie season. The retired goalie was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy after allowing only 16 goals for a .921 save percentage in seven games during the Finals against the Edmonton Oilers.

In 2023, Ward was the first inductee into the Hurricanes Hall of Fame.
