Power, Sabres attempt to stay hot against Wild

Owen Power's three-game goal streak and the Buffalo Sabres' five-game winning streak will be on the line when they visit the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center (9 p.m. ET; BSN, BSWI, MSG-B, ESPN+, SN NOW). The Sabres (26-19-3) have won the first three games of this four-game road trip to close within two points of the Pittsburgh Penguins for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference. Power went without a goal in his first 42 games this season, but the 20-year-old has scored in the past three games to become the first rookie defenseman in Sabres history with a goal streak of at least three games and has points in four straight (three goals, one assist) to increase his season total to 19 points (three goals, 16 assists) in 45 games. The Wild (26-17-4) ended a three-game losing streak with a 3-2 overtime win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday. Lightning seek historic home victory against Kings

The Tampa Bay Lightning can set the longest home winning streak in their history if they defeat the Los Angeles Kings at Amalie Arena on Saturday (7 p.m. ET; BSSUN, BSW, ESPN+, SN NOW). The Lightning (31-15-1) have won 11 straight on home ice, equaling their run from Dec. 23, 2019-Feb. 15, 2020. They're coming off a 3-2 win against the NHL-best Boston Bruins on Thursday and have been led by forward Nikita Kucherov, who leads the NHL in assists (52) and is third in points (71) and centers Steven Stamkos (56 points; 24 goals, 32 assists) and Brayden Point (52 points; 28 goals, 24 assists). The Kings (28-17-6), who are in first in the Pacific Division, will be playing the second game of a back-to-back set following a 4-3 win at the Florida Panthers on Friday. Bruins look to rebound against desperate Panthers

Will the Bruins lose consecutive games for the first time this season? We'll find out when they visit the Panthers at FLA Live Arena (6 p.m. ET; NHLN, BSFLX, NESN, SN NOW). Boston (38-6-4), first in the Eastern Conference, lost at Tampa Bay on Thursday to end a six-game winning streak and seven-game road winning streak. Since Jan. 1, Bruins goalie Linus Ullmark is 5-2-0 with a 1.75 goals-against average and .935 save percentage in seven starts. The Panthers (23-22-6) are 7-4-2 in their past 13 games and five points behind the Penguins for the second wild card in the Eastern Conference. St. Louis Blues at Colorado Avalanche (3 p.m. ET; ESPN+, HULU, SN, TVAS)
Forward Valeri Nichushkin remains day to day with an upper-body injury for Colorado (26-18-3), which had a six-game winning streak end in a 5-3 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday. St. Louis center Jordan Kyrou has four points (three goals, one assist in his past four games and needs one assist to reach 100 in his five-season NHL career (168 points; 69 goals, 99 assists) in 219 games. The Blues (23-23-3) have lost three straight, getting outscored 15-6.
Boston Bruins at Florida Panthers (6 p.m. ET; NHLN, BSFLX, NESN, SN NOW)
Forward Brad Marchand has nine points (three goals, six assists) in a seven-game point streak for the Bruins. Forward Matthew Tkachuk has 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) in his past 13 games for the Panthers.
Philadelphia Flyers at Winnipeg Jets (7 p.m. ET; SN360, CITY, SNW, NBCSP, ESPN+, SN NOW)
Center Kevin Hayes has eight points (five goals, three assists) in his past six games for Philadelphia (20-21-9), which has lost three straight (0-1-2) but has at least one point in 11 of 15 games (9-4-2). The Jets (31-18-1) are coming off a 3-2 loss to the Sabres in the first of a five-game homestand.
Los Angeles Kings at Tampa Bay Lightning (7 p.m. ET; BSSUN, BSW, ESPN+, SN NOW)
Kings center Anze Kopitar has three goals in his past two games, and forward Adrian Kempe has nine points (five goals, four assists) in his past eight games. Stamkos has 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) during a 10-game point streak, and Kucherov has nine points (two goals, seven assists) in a five-game streak.
Montreal Canadiens at Ottawa Senators (7 p.m. ET; CBC, SNE, SNO, SNP, TVAS, ESPN+, SN NOW)
Forward Josh Anderson has three goals in his past five games for Montreal (20-25-4), which is 1-2-1 in its past four. Ottawa goalie Cam Talbot will be out until after the All-Star break because of a lower-body injury he sustained in a 2-1 win against the New York Islanders on Wednesday. The Senators (22-23-3) have won two straight after going 1-4-0 in their previous five.
San Jose Sharks at Pittsburgh Penguins (7 p.m. ET; ATTSN-PT, NBCSCA, ESPN+, SN NOW)
Center Sidney Crosby has 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in a six-game point streak for the Penguins (24-15-9), who have points in six straight games (3-0-3). Defenseman Erik Karlsson has eight points (two goals, six assists) in his past six games for the Sharks (14-25-11), who have lost four straight (0-2-2).
Vegas Golden Knights at New York Islanders (7:30 p.m. ET; MSGSN, ATTSN-RM, ESPN+, SN NOW)
Center Jack Eichel has one assist in his past seven games for Vegas (29-18-3), which has lost three straight (0-2-1) and is 1-5-1 in its past seven. Center Brock Nelson has six points (four goals, two assists) in a five-game point streak for the Islanders (24-22-5), who are 2-7-3 in their past 12 games.
Buffalo Sabres at Minnesota Wild (9 p.m. ET; BSN, BSWI, MSG-B, ESPN+, SN NOW)
Defenseman Rasmus Dahlin had two assists for Buffalo in a 3-2 win at Winnipeg on Thursday to set NHL career-highs with 41 assists and 55 points in 47 games this season, surpassing his 40 assists and 53 points in 80 games last season. His 14 goals also are an NHL career high. Forward Matt Boldy scored two goals (and had an assist) in a 3-2 win against Philadelphia on Thursday, giving him 31 goals in 94 NHL games for Minnesota. Kaprizov (67 games) and Marian Gaborik (93) were the only others to reach 30 goals in fewer games among those who debuted with the Wild.
Columbus Blue Jackets at Seattle Kraken (10 p.m. ET; ROOT-NW, BSOH, ESPN+, SN NOW)
Seattle rookie center Matty Beniers will miss his second straight game with an upper-body injury sustained in the second period of a 6-1 win against the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday. The Kraken (28-15-5) are 2-1-1 so far on a five-game homestand. Forward Johnny Gaudreau has seven points (one goal, six assists) in a five-game point streak for the Blue Jackets (15-31-3), who are playing the third of four-game road swing and are 2-1-1 in their past four games.
Chicago Blackhawks at Edmonton Oilers (10 p.m. ET; CBC, SN, CITY, NBCSCH, ESPN+)
Center Connor McDavid has 17 points (eight goals, nine assists) during an 11-game point streak for the Oilers (27-18-4), who had a six-game winning streak end in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets on Wednesday. Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane is four points from tying Jeremy Roenick (1,216) for fourth place in NHL history among United States-born players. Captain Jonathan Toews could return to the lineup after missing a 5-1 win at the Calgary Flames on Thursday due to a non-COVID related illness for Chicago (15-28-4), which is 4-2-0 in its past six games.
Arizona Coyotes at Anaheim Ducks (10:30 p.m. ET; BSW, BSAZX, ESPN+, SN NOW)
Center Adam Henrique has nine points (six goals, three assists) in a seven-game point streak for the Ducks (15-29-5), who have won three of their past four and finished 3-2-1 on a six-game road trip. Center Nick Schmaltz has seven points (four goals, three assists) in a three-game point streak for Arizona (16-28-5), which has won two of its past three games after losing 11 of 12.
