With one week to go until the start of the 2018-19 NHL regular season, NHL Network today announced it will debut a new weekly show geared toward kids called "NHL Network Ice Time," premiering Saturday, Oct. 6 at 9 a.m. ET/PT.

Hosted by NHL Network analysts, the series will include one-on-one hockey demonstrations and conversations with some of the top players in the NHL, showcasing their personalities on and off the ice. Last year's Conn Smythe Trophy winner Alex Ovechkin, T.J. Oshie and Braden Holtby of the Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals will be featured in the debut episode, with interviews, animated features and a rapid fire question and answer segment with questions submitted from fans via social media. Each episode will also spotlight a youth hockey team as well as youth initiatives within the NHL on a national and local level. "NHL Network Ice Time" will re-air on Sunday at 7 a.m. ET/PT, and clips from each episode will be shared across NHL Network's

NHL Network's lineup of regular season programming returns on Wednesday, Oct. 3 with "NHL Now" at 4 p.m. ET, hosted by E.J. Hradek and Jackie Redmond and a rotation of analysts including Stu Grimson, Brian Lawton and Mike Rupp from Oct. 3-5. NHL Network's signature nightly show "NHL Tonight" returns with a new look and sound at 6 p.m. ET, hosted by Jamison Coyle and Tony Luftman with analysts Grimson, Mike Johnson, Bill Lindsay, Lawton, Alex Tanguay and Kevin Weekes throughout the first week of the season. "On The Fly," NHL Network's nightly highlights show of record, will round out each night with a revamped look as host Jamie Hersch recaps the first three days of the season.
Leading up to the opening night of the regular season, NHL Network will televise the 2018 NHL Global Series Challenge™ games between the New Jersey Devils and SC Bern on Oct. 1 at 1:30 p.m. ET from Bern, Switzerland, and the Edmonton Oilers' game against Kölner Haie will air live on Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. ET from Cologne, Germany. NHL Network's live regular season game schedule will begin with the Columbus Blue Jackets' home opener against the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. ET. The next day, reigning Art Ross Trophy winner Connor McDavid and the Oilers will play the Devils as Taylor Hall, the Devils' first-ever Hart Trophy winner, takes on his former team at 1 p.m. ET in the 2018 NHL Global Series™ live from Gothenburg, Sweden.
Two weeks later, the St. Louis Blues and Toronto Maple Leafs -- who each had a strong offseason with the acquisitions of Ryan O'Reilly and John Tavares, respectively -- will face off on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. ET. The following week, Claude Julien and the Montreal Canadiens will seek their first win against Julien's former team, the Boston Bruins, on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. ET.

On Sunday, Sept. 30 at 6:00 p.m. ET, Tony Luftman, Mike Johnson and Mike Rupp will dive into the Central and Pacific Divisions during NHL Tonight: Western Conference Preview, while Luftman, Johnson and Barry Melrose will break down the Atlantic and Metropolitan Divisions for NHL Tonight: Eastern Conference Preview Monday, Oct. 1, at 6:00 p.m. ET.
Behind The Glass: New Jersey Devils Training Camp, the new four-part, all-access series between the NHL, NHL Network and Devils, will premiere tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET, marking the first series of its kind focused on the NHL preseason. Bonus content and exclusive clips from the episode will be shared by the NHL, NHL Network and the Devils across their social media platforms using #BehindTheGlass.
