Each Monday throughout the 2026-27 NHL season, ESPN and NHL Network analyst Kevin Weekes will provide fans with a guide of games that will be nationally televised. Today, a look at games for the sixth week of the regular season.

Highlights include Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers visiting Connor Hellebuyck and the New Jersey Devils, and the Ottawa Senators visiting the Buffalo Sabres on "Wednesday Night Hockey" on Prime in Canada.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3

Edmonton Oilers at New Jersey Devils (7:30 p.m. ET; Disney+, HULU, ESPN+, SNW, SNO, SNE)

Connor McDavid looks to stay hot when the Oilers (11-2-2) visit the Devils (9-5-0). He had 35 points in October and is on a 15-game, season-opening point streak. Edmonton has had trouble with fast starts in previous seasons, so 11 wins in 15 games is great for the team. This could be the home debut for New Jersey goalie Connor Hellebuyck, who was acquired in a trade with the Winnipeg Jets on Oct. 23 and has won two starts on the road. The Devils have won five of six and have emerged as a definite Stanley Cup contender. They've also been really healthy, which is something they couldn't say last season.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 4

Ottawa Senators at Buffalo Sabres (7:30 p.m. ET; MSG-B, Prime)

The Senators conclude their five-game road trip for "Wednesday Night Hockey" on Prime. Ottawa (9-6-1) has been led by Tim Stutzle, who is on pace for his first 100-point season, and Drake Batherson, on pace for an NHL career high in points. Despite the distractions of former captain Brady Tkachuk leaving in the offseason, the Senators have been playing great hockey. The Sabres (7-4-3) were struggling but swept all three games on their California road trip. Tage Thompson has 10 goals in 14 games, but they will need more from their goalies. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Colten Ellis each have a goals-against average of more than 3.00, and a save percentage under .890.

San Jose Sharks at Los Angeles Kings (10 p.m. ET; HBO MAX, truTV, TNT)

The Sharks (7-7-1) have lost three of four while scoring two or fewer goals in three of those games. Macklin Celebrini (16) and Will Smith (10) are their only players with double-digit points, but rookie Ivar Stenberg, the No. 2 pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, has impressed me with nine points in 15 games. The Kings (4-7-2) need to find some consistency after losing six straight to start the season and alternating wins and losses in their past six. The offense has been an issue, but hopefully Mats Zuccarello and Kevin Fiala return soon to help remedy that.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 5

Carolina Hurricanes at New York Islanders (7 p.m. ET; Disney+, HULU, ESPN+, SN+)

The defending Stanley Cup champions have won four straight and at 12-2-2 have the best record in the NHL. They are by far the most balanced team in the League, in my opinion. Even without guys like Taylor Hall, Jordan Staal and Seth Jarvis, who are or have been out with injuries, Carolina is still getting it done. And I'd be remiss if I didn't give a shoutout to Pyotr Kochetkov, who is 10-0-0 with a 1.49 GAA and .929 save percentage this season. That's been great to see after he was injured last season and didn't get to play during the Hurricanes' Cup run. This will be a big test for the Islanders (7-5-2), who will have not played since a 4-0 loss to the Oilers on Saturday and will be without defenseman Ryan Pulock for 2-4 weeks because of an upper-body injury. They also host the Devils on Saturday before a three-game California trip, so it will be a big stretch for them.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7

Montreal Canadiens at Toronto Maple Leafs (7 p.m. ET; TVAS, SN)

Two of the Original Six teams and bitter rivals face off at Scotiabank Arena. The Canadiens (9-3-2) enter the week with five straight wins and have done it without captain Nick Suzuki, who is injured and missing the first games of his NHL career. The good news is Cole Caufield and Lane Hutson have been doing the heavy lifting and producing almost every game. And Jacob Fowler with his 7-1-0 record, 1.84 GAA and .932 save percentage, has been a force in goal. The Maple Leafs (8-6-2) will try to pile up the points when they start a six-game homestand. Auston Matthews has 11 goals in 16 games. If his hand injury is still lingering, it sure doesn't seem like it.
