Dallas Stars

Jamie Benn is day to day with a lower-body injury he sustained when the Stars defeated the Nashville Predators 7-0 in their season opener at American Airlines Center on Friday.
The Stars captain collided with Predators forward Viktor Arvidsson in the second period. Benn returned briefly at the end of that period but the forward did not play in the third. Jason Dickinson took Benn's place at left wing on the top line with center Roope Hintz and right wing Denis Gurianov at practice Saturday.
"He can skate with them, for starters," Stars coach Rick Bowness said of Dickinson. "You want to play with those two, you have to be able to skate and he can fly with them. He's very reliable on both ends of the ice. I know he's a natural center. We had to use him on wing in the [Stanley Cup Playoffs], and we're putting him on the wing now because of the injuries on our left side."
The Stars host the Predators at American Airlines Center on Sunday (8 p.m. ET; NHLN, FS-SW, FS-TN, NHL.TV).
Bowness said forward Joel Kiviranta is day to day after leaving practice Saturday with a lower-body injury. He didn't have an update on forward Blake Comeau, who missed the season opener because he was in COVID-19 protocol. -- Tracey Myers

Washington Capitals

Tom Wilson did not practice and could be out against the Buffalo Sabres at Capital One Arena on Sunday (3 p.m. ET; NBCSWA, MSG-B, NHL.TV).
The forward left a 4-3 shootout win against the Sabres on Friday with a lower-body injury early in the third period.
"Tom's still day to day ... and we just got off the ice and we're working through that right now," Capitals coach Peter Laviolette said after practice Saturday. "So I don't have an answer for you at this moment."
Laviolette said Washington could dress 11 forwards and seven defensemen against Buffalo if Wilson can't play.
Wilson has scored six points (three goals, three assists) in five games this season.

Columbus Blue Jackets

Mikko Koivu
could be activated from COVID-19 protocol and make his debut against the Florida Panthers at Nationwide Arena on Tuesday.
The center has not dressed for any of the Blue Jackets' first five games this season.
Koivu signed a one-year contract with Columbus on Oct. 10 after playing his first 15 NHL seasons with the Minnesota Wild.
