NYI@NSH: Jeannot nets second in front for tying goal

NASHVILLE --Tanner Jeannot scored two goals for the Nashville Predators in a 3-2 shootout win against the New York Islanders at Bridgestone Arena on Saturday.

Juuse Saros made 34 saves for the Predators (4-4-0), who have won three straight games. Filip Forsberg and Roman Josi scored in the shootout
"[Resiliency] is exactly what it was," Nashville forward Colton Sissons said. "It's never [an] easy game against the Isles. They do a good job defensively. It's hard to generate some clean offense, so we hung in there and had a conversation in between the second and third [periods] that we were going to get it done. We ended up getting it done so it felt great."
Anthony Beauvillier and Oliver Wahlstrom scored for the Islanders (3-2-2), and Ilya Sorokin made 21 saves. New York extended its point streak to five games (3-0-2).
"I liked our game," Islanders coach Barry Trotz said. "This is a hard building to come into. We were emotionally engaged right from the start."

Jeannot scored his second of the game to tie it 2-2 at 11:48 of the third period on a redirection of a pass from Matt Benning. The Predators trailed 1-0 and 2-1 before winning in the shootout.
"I think that's the type of team we want to be," Jeannot said. "We want to be a team that never gives up. We're always the hardest working team out there. We want to be. I think that's just the mindset that we have going in, especially our line. We know what we're good at and we know how we can help the team, so that's what we try and focus on doing is getting pucks deep and being tough to play against and generating momentum for our team."
Beauvillier gave the Islanders a 1-0 lead at 14:46 of the first period on a one-timer on the power play. Josh Bailey swung the puck across the ice to Beauvillier for a shot from the right face-off circle.
Jeannot made it 1-1 at 6:54 of the second period on a wrist shot on the rush from the right circle.
"We have a lot of confidence in [Jeannot]," Predators coach John Hynes said. "He's really picked up where he left off last year. We saw some good signs when he got called up (from Milwaukee of the American Hockey League) and the games he played at the end of the season and into the playoffs. He was just really consistent, and I think some of it is just the mental makeup of the player. He's a big, physical guy (6-foot-2, 208 pounds). But the consistency that he plays with, his coachability, and his desire and competitiveness allow a lot of what his skillset is to be able to come out. He continues to play well and be a major factor."

Wahlstrom gave the Islanders a 2-1 lead at 12:04 of the second period with a wrist shot from the left circle on the power play.
"For sure we want the two points, but I thought it was a pretty good road game," Bailey said. "I think [Trotz] mentioned after the game, obviously we want the win but we're collecting points. We played well. They got a break late in the game to tie it up. But yeah, we'll take it. I thought it was a pretty solid effort collectively."
Wahlstrom shot wide of the net in the first round of the shootout, and Saros made the save against Beauvillier in the second.
