Carey Price is progressing in his rehab following knee surgery but is not ready return to the ice, the Montreal Canadiens said Friday.

The 34-year-old goalie has continued to have issues following surgery July 23 and has not played this season. The expected recovery time was 10-12 weeks, but it was announced Jan. 17 that he would have to restart his rehabilitation. There was no timeline for a return.
"There's a lot going on over the next couple of weeks that will determine the rest of my season," Price said Jan. 31. "… I'm not a fortune teller. I'm just trying to stick to the process that's at hand, and that's trying to get back on the ice and see how it feels when I get back into a game situation."
Price rejoined the Canadiens on Nov. 9 after entering the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program Oct. 7 for substance use. He skated with the Canadiens on Nov. 17.
Price, who helped the Canadiens reach the Stanley Cup Final last season, was 13-9 with a 2.28 goals-against average and .924 save percentage in 22 games; Montreal lost the Final to the Tampa Bay Lightning in five games. He was 12-7-5 in 25 regular-season games with a 2.64 GAA and a .901 save percentage.
The Canadiens on Friday also gave updates on several players who have been out of the lineup.
Forward Josh Anderson practiced and is expected to play at the Ottawa Senators on Saturday (7 p.m. ET; TVAS, SN1, CITY, SNE, ESPN+, NHL LIVE). Anderson left a 4-0 win against the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday after blocking a shot.
Forward Paul Byron (upper body) is getting treatment but there is no timeline for his return. He was injured against the Sabres when he was struck in the face with the puck.
Forward Joel Armia (undisclosed) practiced but did not take contact. He will not play against the Senators. Forward Mathieu Perreault, who has not played since Dec. 14 because of a lower-body injury, will play Saturday.
Defenseman Joel Edmundson practiced but did not take contact. He has not played this season because of a back injury. Defenseman Corey Schueneman was removed from NHL COVID-19 protocol and returned to practice.
Forward Jonathan Drouin skated Thursday but will not travel. He has missed 13 games with a wrist injury.
Goalie Jake Allen skated Thursday and is progressing. He has not played since Jan. 12 and was expected to miss eight weeks with a lower-body injury.
