DETROIT -- Jared Coreau made 18 saves for his second career NHL shutout and the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Montreal Canadiens 1-0 at Joe Louis Arena on Monday.
Detroit (19-19-6) has wins against Montreal and the Pittsburgh Penguins in the past three days. The Red Wings defeated the Penguins 6-3 at home Saturday.
"Those are two big wins," Red Wings forward Frans Nielsen said. "I thought we played pretty good on our road trip, and now we've come home and kept it going.
"It's good to see we can win games both like the Pittsburgh game and this one."
