Plekanec_1000th

You know you're an all-time great when the bosses dress like you to your party.

Geoff Molson, owner and president of the Montreal Canadiens, and Marc Bergevin, the team's general manager, sported turtlenecks to honor Tomas Plekanec at the center's ceremony for playing 1,000 NHL games Wednesday.
Aside from his on-ice prowess, Plekanec has become widely known for the turtleneck he wears under his uniform. Besides Bergevin and Molson, Plekanec's mom Kveta, his sons Matyas and Adam and Canadiens legend Guy Lafleur were there to help deliver his silver stick.
Bergevin and Molson may have worn the shirts on the ice, but they weren't the only Canadiens sporting turtlenecks while celebrating Plekanec.

Plekanec has played 984 of his 1,001 career games in a Montreal uniform, with the remaining 17 coming as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs last season.
