Chaffee

Mitchell Chaffee signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old forward, who was an undrafted free agent, completed his junior season with the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he was co-captain and scored 29 points (16 goals, 13 assists) in 30 games. Chaffee tied for the team lead in power-play points (nine), and was second in power-play goals (three), game-winning goals (three) and shots on goal (101).
In 2018-19, Chaffee was a CCM/American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) First-Team All-American and the Hockey East scoring champion with 42 points (18 goals, 24 assists) in 40 games to help the Minutemen advance to the NCAA championship game. Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar was his teammate.
In three seasons with UMass Amherst, Chaffee scored 95 points (47 goals, 48 assists) in 108 games.
