Spurgeon was placed on long-term injured reserve Wednesday but Wild coach Dean Evason said the hope is the defenseman and Boldy, a forward, can practice when the Wild return to Minnesota after their three-game road trip ends at the New Jersey Devils on Sunday. ... Gaudreau is not with the Wild. Evason said the forward initially was injured against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Oct. 14 but was able to play the previous four games. ... Khaira was recalled from Iowa of the American Hockey League on Wednesday and will make his Wild debut. ... Gustavsson will start Thursday and Fleury at the Washington Capitals on Friday. ... Defensemen Belpedio and Mete were recalled from Lehigh Valley of the AHL. Belpedio will play his first NHL game since Feb. 16, 2021, with the Wild against the Los Angeles Kings. ...
