Martinook throws 1st pitch before Durham Bulls game with Stanley Cup

Jordan Martinook took the Stanley Cup out to the ball game.

The Carolina Hurricanes forward brought the trophy to the Durham Bulls game at Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Tuesday.

Joined by two of his kids, Martinook lifted the Cup as he took his place on the mound for the ceremonial first pitch. Fans in the stands gave them a loud ovation.

The veteran forward then tossed the ball right down the middle for a strike.

The Bulls, who are the Tampa Bay Rays’ AAA affiliate, also gifted Martinook a brand new Bulls shirsey.

In July, Martinook tagged the Bulls in a post on X stating that he needed a replacement shirsey after losing his at the Hurricanes Stanley Cup championship parade. The Bulls responded that if he brought the Cup, they’ll talk.”

Durham is located about 21 miles north of Raleigh.

Fans were able to take pictures with Stanley Cup throughout the game in the outfield concourse.
