Mikko Rantanen was swinging for the back of the net on Saturday.

The Dallas Stars forward batted a puck out of midair for a highlight reel goal against the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center.

During the third period, Rantanen missed a puck on a rebound, then teammate Sam Steel attempted to pick up the rebound, sending the puck into the air. Rantanen, who was at the side of the net, swatted the flying puck with his backhand and into the goal past Sharks goalie Alex Nedeljkovic.

The goal gave the Stars a 4-2 lead. It was Rantanen’s 18th goal of the season.
