Tyler Madden signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Los Angeles Kings on Monday.

The 20-year-old center just completed his sophomore season at Northeastern University, where he led the team in goals (19) and points (37) in 27 games. He ranked third in the country in goals per game (.70) and was named a Hockey East First Team All-Star.
In two seasons at Northeastern, Madden had 65 points (31 goals, 34 assists) in 63 games.
Originally selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the third round (No. 68) of the 2018 NHL Draft, Madden was acquired by Los Angeles as part of the trade that sent forward Tyler Toffoli to Vancouver on Feb. 17.
Madden's father, John, played in 898 games over 13 NHL seasons with the New Jersey Devils, Chicago Blackhawks, Minnesota Wild and Florida Panthers. He was a three-time Stanley Cup champion (2000, 2003 with the Devils; 2010 with the Blackhawks) and won the Selke Trophy as the best defensive forward in the League in 2001.
