The Los Angeles Kings didn't have a morning skate prior to the second of back-to-back games after defeating the Nashville Predators 4-0 on Thursday. Forward Tyler Toffoli didn't play against Nashville because of a lower-body injury and is day to day. He had played 149 consecutive games before Thursday. The Kings penalty kill has been perfect in the past eight games, going 22-for-22 since allowing two power-play goals against the Montreal Canadiens on Dec. 4. "I think limiting the number of penalties that we take obviously helps," coach Darryl Sutter said Thursday." Two or three a game, and we have good centermen that are pretty good penalty-killers. There's no secret to it." Goalie Peter Budaj has started four straight games and allowed a total of three goals. He made 28 saves in the shutout victory at Nashville. Budaj has played 29 games since starter Jonathan Quick was injured on opening night. "Obviously, you don't want to go in the net when somebody's hurt," he said Thursday. "It's unfortunate, but on the other hand, it's an opportunity for me to show everybody that I can still do this." This is the seventh of nine consecutive road games for the Kings, who don't play at home until Dec. 31.
