DET@COL: Compher receives fan recognition in return against Avalanche

J.T. Compher was welcomed back to Colorado with open arms on Wednesday.

The veteran forward received a standing ovation from Colorado Avalanche fans in his first game at Ball Arena since signing with the Detroit Red Wings in the summer.

Avalanche fans got on their feet to applaud Compher after a tribute video of his highlights in Colorado aired on the arena video board.

Players from both the Avalanche and Red Wings tapped their sticks on the ice as Compher saluted the crowd.

The forward spent seven seasons (2016-2023) with the Avalanche. He helped Colorado to their 2022 Stanley Cup Championship.
