Inspirational Laila Anderson was the face of so much of the Blues' 2019 Stanley Cup championship. She was the rallying point for not just fans of the team that would win the first NHL championship in its history, but of the players themselves and pretty much the entire Blues organization. It worked both ways: Laila's courageous battle against hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis was probably bolstered by her focus on the team. She cheered the Blues to the Stanley Cup title, hung out with the team before, during and after its triumph, took part in the victory parade, and was presented her own Stanley Cup ring. So it made perfect sense for this young woman, who galvanized a team, a city and a fan base, to be on hand at Enterprise Center to introduce Blues all-stars Ryan O'Reilly, Jordan Binnington, David Perron and Alex Pietrangelo. Laila was one of best feel-good stories of the 2018-19 season. She's an all-star by her own right, so she gets my vote for being an uplifting part of the 2020 Honda NHL All-Star Game.
