The Islanders aim to stretch the longest point streak in their history to 17 games when they open a California road trip with a game against the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center (10:30 p.m. ET; NBCSCA, MSG+, NHL.TV). New York is 15-0-1 in its past 16 games and will try to become the third different team during the past four seasons to go at least 17 games without a regulation loss. The Islanders would join the Columbus Blue Jackets (17-0-1 from Nov. 25, 2016 through Jan. 3, 2017) and the Boston Bruins (14-0-4 from Dec. 16, 2017 through Jan. 25, 2018, and 15-0-4 from Jan. 29 through March 9, 2019).
The Stars, 9-0-1 in their past 10 games, host the Chicago Blackhawks at American Airlines Center (8 p.m. ET; FS-SW, NBCSCH, NHL.TV). They are trying for the eighth point streak of at least 11 games in Stars/Minnesota North Stars history and the first since going 10-0-1 from Feb. 21 through March 13, 2012.
