Super new Jerssey devil

The New Jersey Devils turned back the clock about two and a half decades for "Retro Night" in Newark against the Washington Capitals Thursday.

The team celebrated with a special video that opens the way an "HBO Feature Presentation" did two decades ago.

The spot also made reference to so many classic video games of the past; Metal Gear Solid, Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Mario Bros. to name a few. The twist? The Devils mascot, NJ Devil, replaces all the video game characters.
Perhaps the best (and most appropriate) video game reference is the final one to Nintendo's Ice Hockey from 1988.
You may remember that game from your younger years. It was the one that enabled a player to select skaters based on three sizes: small, medium and large.
Using a couple other classic games as inspiration, Devils junior art director Anthony Zych made a poster based on EA Sports' NHL '94, regarded as one of the best sports games of the era, and Hit the Ice, a 2-on-2 game that came out in 1990.

And while we're running away with the retro theme, was that Seinfeld character David Puddy at the game?
