TAMPA -- Jonathan Drouin and Brayden Point each had a goal and an assist to lift the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 4-1 win against the Detroit Red Wings at Amalie Arena on Tuesday.
Tampa Bay goalies Ben Bishop and Andrei Vasilevskiy combined for 26 saves. Bishop sustained a lower-body injury in the first period and left at 12:14 after making four saves on four shots.
Lightning coach Jon Cooper did not have an update on Bishop's injury.
Vasilevskiy said he is ready to take on additional games if necessary.
"That's why I'm here and that's why I'm working every day," Vasilevskiy said. "It's a good opportunity for me to play in more games."

Detroit goalie Jimmy Howard also left the game because of injury. He was favoring his right leg when helped off the ice at 5:39 of the second period following a collision in his crease.

Anthony Mantha scored for the Red Wings (14-15-4).

Tampa Bay scored three goals in the second period.
Drouin made it 2-0 at 7:41 on his eighth goal. With the Lightning on a 5-on-3 power play, Drouin beat goalie Petr Mrazek with a wrist shot to the near post with Boyle providing a screen.
"Lately, wins have been hard to come by for us, so to get one at home off this stretch is good," Drouin said. "Definitely a bummer to get that last goal for [Vasilevskiy], but overall it was a good game."

Point scored on the power play to make it 3-0 with 2:56 left in the period. He pushed the puck past Mrazek on the rebound of a Tyler Johnson shot.
Namestnikov scored his fourth goal to put the Lightning ahead 4-0 with 33 seconds remaining. Vasilevskiy made two saves before Killorn set up Namestnikov on a 2-on-1 break.

Mantha ended Tampa Bay's shutout bid when he scored with 10.5 seconds remaining in the third period to make it 4-1.
"I thought we had our chances," Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg said. "But they took care of it, and we didn't."
Howard made 15 saves on 16 shots, and Mrazek had 12 saves.

Goal of the game

Saves of the game

Vasilevskiy made consecutive point-blank saves on Xavier Ouellet at 19:17 and 19:19 of the second period. He sent the second shot off to the side boards, leading to Namestnikov's goal.

Highlight of the game

Drouin's goal proved to be the game-winner, and it was another display of his dynamic shot and his command of Tampa Bay's pace on the power play. "Some games you're feeling it, and [Tuesday] was one of them," Drouin said. "You hope it happens a lot more."

Unsung performance of the game

The Lightning penalty kill, which was 25th in the NHL entering Tuesday (78.2 percent), was 5-for-5 against the Red Wings. "We changed our attitude a little bit," Boyle said. "I think that's the biggest thing with the penalty kill. You have to sell out because it can win you games and it can lose you games."

They said it

"I thought some guys did compete and some guys didn't compete hard enough. It wasn't good enough across the board." -- Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill
"I take complete blame on [the Jimmy Howard injury]. The guy who stepped on at the red line got by me and created a 3-on-2, and I hustled back. I saw they got a shot off, and I kind of panicked, tried to tie the guy up, got hooked around him, and I ran into Jimmy." -- Red Wings defenseman Nick Jensen

"It's just one game. So we needed to start off this little run of home games and we had to play with desperation. I thought we did that. There's a lot we can build off this, no question. Really proud of the effort the guys gave tonight. Our game, it started out West, and our game's getting better." -- Lightning coach Jon Cooper
