Curtis McElhinney's skate blade was no match for Eric Gelinas' blast from the point on Wednesday.

The Toronto Maple Leafs goalie lost his skate blade stopping a shot from Gelinas during the second period of Maple Leafs preseason game against the Montreal Canadiens in Quebec City.
McElhinney made a routine skate save on the Canadiens defenseman's shot from the point, but it dislodged the goalie's skate blade. He was forced to exit the game, and was replaced by Garret Sparks, after the Maple Leafs equipment staff initially struggled to fix the blade.
But the shot didn't keep McElhinney out for long. He returned, with his skate blade in tact, after spending 11 seconds on the Toronto bench.
