Staal scored his first goal of the game on the power play to give the Wild a 1-0 lead at 4:35 of the first period. He has scored in back-to-back games and has 30 points (17 goals, 13 assists) in his past 21 games.
Staal has 36 goals this season, tied for fourth-most with Tyler Seguin and trailing Alex Ovechkin (40), Patrik Laine (38), Evgeni Malkin (37).
"Those guys can score a lot and shoot it really well, so [I've] got a lot of work to do if I want to catch or be around those guys," Staal said. "I'm just going to keep playing. We got quite a few games left and [I'm] getting some good looks from my linemates, great plays. We're about trying to win games and get ourselves in the right position, and that kind of stuff just takes care of itself. But I don't like my chances with those guys shooting, to be completely honest."
Niederreiter scored 23 seconds into the second period when he deflected Jared Spurgeon's shot past Cam Ward (nine saves) to make it 2-0.
Parise scored a power-play goal at 2:23, tipping in a shot from Mikko Koivu to extend the lead 3-0.
Ward was pulled after Daniel Winnik scored at 3:36, but Staal scored again 15 seconds later to make it 5-0.
Phillip Di Giuseppe ended Devan Dubnyk's shutout at 9:23 of the third.
Matt Cullen's fourth goal in his past nine games gave the Wild a 6-1 lead at 14:46.
Derek Ryan scored a power-play goal at 18:19 to make it 6-2.
"I think at this point we don't really want to take anything from this game," Ryan said. "We just want to move on to the next game, playing [at] Chicago on Thursday and flush this game and make sure we're coming out and playing the way we know how to play: at a high level and executing our systems. Let's look past this one. Let's get rid of it and move on."
